So yeah, i've been troubled.
I need to get my head together. Sometimes, I wish things were the way they were in the past, I think thats just wishful thinking though.
If anyone still reads this: My graduation is August 8th. I'm not entirely sure what I should do for it yet, so far, if I just invite family, i'll have ~50 people there. Thats only family. WHERE AM I GOING TO BRING 50 PEOPLE.
Either way, all of you are invited, and more then welcomed to bring someone I might know. Maybe i'll just throw a big party, get 2 or 3 kegs. If you want an invitation (They look really awesome), leave your address.

This post is way over due. I left my camera at house during Korea, so all my pictures are from the wind up variety and haven't been developed yet. So thats soon to come.
Me and May broke up, I thought I would be better by now. Still nothing. More on that later.
I'm done with classes in June, then what? Hopefully the answer at 11.

Just before i'm set to depart for Korea, I get sick. Again! I was sick 2 weeks ago, it shouldn't happen again. At least not this soon. My ear is completely clogged, I can't hear anything out of it. I have an appointment at 1 to checkmeout. Hopefully it'll prove more useful then today when I went to the advising office. That girl knew nothing.
either way, it should be fun, i'll take lots of pictures. If anyone wants anything, ask.

I'm updating, which means i'm probably trying to put off studying. Which is true.
A year ago, I remember sitting in the library and looking at all the stuff I could do without a degree. I'd waste countless hours looking at bank jobs, managerial jobs at shoe stores, and others of the like. Now that i'm close to finishing i'm absolutely paralyzed with options. sooo
I'm going to Korea. Actually this has nothing to do with long term plans, I want to just go to see it. I have a friend, Alex Mccleery, who lives there. Her freedom and endless pursuit of life inspired me to move to Gainesville to chase after what I wanted. Now shes living in Korea teaching English to 6 year olds. It honestly sounds like a good gig, they pay for everything (flight, apartment etc) and give you about 25k a year. The cost of living is cheap enough that I could possibly pay off some of these loans I have. New York might just have to wait a tick.
So i'm going to teach for a day, then i'm hooking up with a couple climbers there to go climbing at some rock. Then yeah, i'm just going to wander around and explore for a week. Maybe get drunk and end up singing at some karaoke bar somewhere. Lost and alone in Asia. I just hope Kim Jong-il can keep his shit together until I leave.
Other news: Valentines day is coming fast. Remember that old Mario's World game. The little ghosties? When you look they stop, and then you turn around and they slowly start coming after you. That's kind of what I imagine Valentines day to be like.

So, i'd consider this a victory: About two weeks ago I decided to ride with May to Tampa. Mostly because I didn't want her riding by herself. I was hanging out with a couple old friends and somehow we started talking about this old band called Einstein. Years ago I had tried to find their music on the web; it had been since 7th or 8th grade since i've heard them last, but to no avail. Anyways, Travis tipped me off that I might be able to find it through Brian. And I did! I'm listening to it right now!
Unfortunately years of musical listening have refined my tastes away from this type of music. Its still surprising though that I remember all the words, even though two weeks ago I couldn't recite the first lines to any of the songs. Its hard to describe what this feels like. Maybe coming back to a city you grew up in 40 years ago and instinctively driving straight back to your old house even though you wouldn't be able to draw a map even if you tried. Ok i'm not making sense anymore.
Quickly: Pushing a solo (sometimes two) in every song made some songs weak. The singer has a whiny voice. The songs definitely have a 90's feel to it (not saying that is a bad thing).

Over all, I think this years new year eves party was the most interesting. We rented an RV, drove to the beach and spent it on the beach with a few friends. It was a nice departure from the traditional crazy festivities, but I think in all reality, I enjoy being around lots and lots of people. So next year, no more beach parties. Instead, by the looks of it, i'll either be in New York watching the ball drop, or with Rick, John, Travis, Ed and the like blowing up cars.
Either way, good times.

This is probably my favorite time of the year. I know I said that around the end of November and again before that at the end of October (I think I just like vacations); but truly, the end of the year is something special. I get to self reflect and see exactly where I fucked up and make goals to actually DO something about it. January 1st always feels like I started a new life.
This year, i'm 98% certain these things will happen:
1.)I'm going to graduate.
2.)Move out of Gainesville
3.)I'm going to get back into rock climbing again.
4.)Big things will happen between me and May. We'll either hit the 3 year mark, or we wont. If we do, I've always said if I ever get to 3 years with someone..that'll be it.
Things i'm less sure of:
1.) I'm going to try to use my computer a lot less.
2.) Get all A's?
3.) I haven't seen Yes man yet, but I like the idea of saying yes to everything. I think i'm going to try that. Obviously within reason.
4.) Update LJ three times a week. No matter even its just Hey, this happened today, the end.
I'm watching this special on the history of Beer in the United states. It seems like everyone had this idea of go big go home. I like that.

18.) Describe your birthday. My birthday was shit. I was depressed to be turning 22 so I did nothing.
19.) What's the one thing you thought you would never do but did in 2008? Chile. I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to go because I really didn't have enough money to go. But then I got lucky and got a peer-to-peer loan. Yeah, and there ya have it.
20.) What is one thing you regret from this year? I think coming back early from Chile is one of my biggest regrets. My plan was to talk to no one and just enjoy it, didn't happen.
21.) What do you want for Christmas? The winning lotto ticket. Membership to OH wait, no. Passing all my classes this semester. Yeah, that.
22.) Any new additions to your family? I'm 70% sure someone in my family gave birth.
23.) What was your best month? July or August.
24.) What from pop culture will you remember 2008 by? So you think you can dance. I went to the Tampa tour thing

31.) Favourite Night Out? Getting completely lost in Chile, a little bit drunk, then some coffee, then we went into some old castle after they closed. Climbing up broken stairs to the top to see Santiago from above. And then security found us and kicked us out. That wasn't the end.

So i'm posting, even though I really shouldn't be.
I neeeeed to study. I have a debate and a midterm tomorrow.
I'm extremely worried about graduating, but not as worried as I am about finishing. What comes next?
its becoming very real as October finishes up and I think, really, only 6 more months until I walk. Then what? Hawaii? New York? Tampa? LONDON!? (Anywhere in the UK sounds amazing).
The thought that doing any one of the 4 subsequently blocks me from doing the other three is paralyzing to thought. The decision, what would I enjoy most in the future, demands an internal evaluation that i'm simply not ready for..
Also, I started playing rugby.

I really want something sweet right now. Maybe cake. I already had a donut and tons/bag of chips/kettle corn and a bunch of other bad things to eat today but i'm still not satisfied.
I crashed my bike. Around campus there are 3 feet high walls that more or less surround the campus. I hit the side of one, so the corner kind of went into my ankle a little bit. It was bleeding as you would suspect but I got back on my bike and rode to the infirmary. Which is this free student health care thing. I locked up my bike, limped in and patiently waited in line to be seen; blood dripping on the floor. Eventually i'm called up, and they lay me down on this bed type thing. Two people, one a doctor the other probably a nurse, clean the wound and take a look inside. The doctor pulls it open with ease, and I can see inside about 1/4 of an inch and i'm not joking, I saw something blue.
I'm getting tired so long story short: They stitch me up and somehow I ride home with a numb leg + stitches. I'm doing a lot better..not limping anymore. Its amazing how fast the body heals itself back up. Just kind of mad I couldn't join the rugby team.

Theres a lot of things I could post about today. My new living situation at the CLO. My new room mate who lives in my room instead of down the hall. Theres also the new school situation and how my work load is now ~150 pages a day (reading, I only write about 3 a day), not really giving me time to do anything else remotely fun. I could tell you how May is doing, how we are doing, but nothing has changed. I've been getting exactly 5 hours of sleep every night for the past couple days, and taking extremely short 40 minute naps mid day to keep me afloat.
Again, there are lots of things I could tell you, but instead, heres a picture another picture of Chile. The sun set in Valparaiso Chile. I miss it, a lot.
